Job Description & Duties
Reporting To: Company Director
Location: Construction sites as required by the business Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
Job Purpose
To carry out skilled bricklaying and masonry work on construction sites, ensuring all work is completed to the required technical standards, health and safety regulations, and project specifications.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Laying bricks, blocks, and stone using mortar in accordance with drawings and specifications
- Constructing and repairing walls, foundations, partitions, and other masonry structures
- Measuring, cutting, and shaping materials using appropriate tools and equipment
- Interpreting construction plans and accurately setting out work areas · Mixing mortar and preparing materials to the correct consistency
· Ensuring structures are level, plumb, and structurally sound
· Repairing and maintaining existing brickwork and masonry
· Complying with all site health and safety regulations
· Working collaboratively with other trades and site personnel
· Maintaining tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment
Working Hours and Salary
- Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
· Salary: £36,000 to £42,000 .
Skills and Experience
· Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry work
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Good understanding of construction materials and methods · Physically fit for construction site duties
· Awareness of UK health and safety standards
